In response to adverse weather conditions in the UAE, the Crown Prince of Ajman has directed government officials to implement remote work arrangements. Ajman's Crown Prince, Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, has mandated remote work for Ajman government employees on Tuesday, April 16, due to unpredictable weather conditions.
Chairman of the Executive Council, Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, has extended the remote working directive to all government departments across Ajman. Exceptions will be made for employees whose roles necessitate on-site presence, as determined by the relevant authorities in each department.
Residents of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah have been cautioned about heavy rainfall and unstable weather conditions anticipated over the next 48 hours, according to reports.
Dr. Ahmed Habib, an expert at the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), highlighted to Khaleej Times the potential for significant rainfall and even hailstorms in areas like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and other emirates. He mentioned that cloud formations are expected to strengthen over the coming hours, with rainfall already observed in some coastal regions of the UAE. Additionally, he warned of thunderclouds accompanied by strong winds, which could lead to reduced visibility, particularly in the eastern parts of the country. Dr. Habib noted that Abu Dhabi is currently experiencing wind speeds of up to 1000km/hr.
Police "fully prepared"
As reported by news agency ANI, the Abu Dhabi police have stated their full preparedness to address the forecasted weather conditions expected to affect the UAE until Wednesday (Apr 17).
To uphold public safety, the police will work closely with other pertinent organizations. In a statement, the Abu Dhabi Police General Command emphasized that collaboration with entities such as the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority (ADCDA), Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), Al Ain Municipality, Al Dhafra Municipality, and Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE) will be paramount in ensuring community safety and safeguarding lives and property.
