Ashton Kutcher, Effie Epstein, and Guy Oseary to Attend TechCrunch Disrupt 2024

Ashton Kutcher, Effie Epstein, and Guy Oseary will be attending TechCrunch Disrupt 2024. This highly anticipated event will feature these influential figures in discussions about innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship. Attendees can look forward to insights from these industry leaders, making it an excellent opportunity for networking and gaining valuable perspectives on the future of the tech landscape.

Last year, Sound Ventures, a venture firm based in Beverly Hills, California, and led by general partners Ashton Kutcher, Guy Oseary, and Effie Epstein, announced a new AI fund worth $265 million, focusing on significant investments in large language model companies such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Hugging Face.

The strategy involved investing in just six companies, which is a high-risk yet potentially rewarding approach based on the team's vision of a future where the most successful AI companies will be few but large, due to the substantial technical talent and capital required for computing costs.

Since then, Sound Ventures has successfully raised additional funds for this same initiative. It appears they have remained committed to their mission, as indicated by the limited number of deals publicly disclosed in 2024. The team is excited to share their strategy at TechCrunch Disrupt 2024, along with insights into current trends they are monitoring.

Kutcher has arguably navigated the transition from acting to investing more effectively than anyone else in Hollywood. He began his venture career in 2010 by launching A-Grade Investments with talent manager and business partner Guy Oseary, whose early investments in companies like Airbnb and Uber solidified their reputation for seizing timely opportunities.

The duo later established Sound Ventures in 2014 and invited Epstein to join them a few years after to enhance their collective expertise. Epstein had previously led global strategy at Marsh, a subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan. She also held roles as Senior Vice President of planning and head of investor relations at iHeartMedia, and worked in business development at Clear before that.

Additionally, Epstein has experience in investment banking within the energy sector, contributing a wide range of skills and valuable connections to the firm.
