Gen Z Employee's Out-of-Office Video Goes Viral, Internet Reacts

A Gen Z employee's innovative out-of-office video has taken the internet by storm, garnering viral attention and sparking a wide range of reactions. The creative approach has intrigued social media users and prompted discussions on modern workplace communication. This viral sensation showcases how a simple out-of-office message can captivate audiences and highlight the unique contributions of the younger generation in the professional world.

As times change and workplace trends shift, the methods for responding to and crafting out-of-office messages are also transforming.

When employees go on vacation or are away from the office for a few days, they typically set up an out-of-office autoresponder email. This message informs contacts how to access the information or services they need while explaining why responses will be delayed. As times and workplace trends evolve, so do the methods for creating out-of-office messages. Recently, a Gen Z employee's out-of-office video went viral online.

Travel insurance company Butter Insurance shared the clip, which features a video by Joshua Kessel. The video starts with an image of a plane's wing accompanied by the airplane's call bell sound. In the video, Kessel says, "If you are watching this, I am probably on a plane to Europe right now." The scene then shifts to him sitting on a bench with an animation of a plane, making it appear as if he is seated on an airplane. Kessel also shares his email ID and answers questions about his return to work. The video ends with the text "We'll be right back."

The text in the video reads, "Our Gen Z marketing guy set this as his out of office." The caption of the post adds, "I wish this was a joke but he's not even here to make this a video."

Since being shared, the footage has garnered eight million views and two lakh likes on Instagram.

One person commented, "Out: email signatures. In: email videos."

"That has millennial sarcasm written all over it," said another user.

Another added, "Gen Z are not bothered to inform in the first place. They just disappear lol."

"Bros sending the entire company a 22mb attachment," joked a third person.

"At first, I thought he was Jake Peralta from Brooklyn Nine-Nine," commented another user.

"As a millennial, I confirm that this makes me laugh... Definitely millennial's stuff," added another social media user.

An Instagram user said, "But how do I get the bravery... I love this."
