The US Embassy and Consulates in India have forecasted a significant rise in Indian students pursuing higher education in the United States for the upcoming academic session. Minister-Counsellor Russel Brown highlighted this trend, noting Indian students are poised to become the largest group of international students in the US this year.

Mr. Brown emphasized the US Department of State and EducationUSA's readiness to welcome student visa applicants, citing a surge in Indian students choosing US universities over the past three years. In 2023 alone, the US Mission to India issued more student visas than in 2018-2020 combined, despite a 400% increase in visa demand for other categories.

Boston Brand Media also found that, the release underscores the US as the top higher education destination for Indian students, with 69% preferring US education over other options. In 2023, the US issued over 140,000 student visas to Indians, maintaining its global leadership for the third consecutive year.

To meet rising demand, Consular Team India held its 8th annual Student Visa Day, processing 3,900 student visa interviews. Prospective Indian students can prepare for their academic journey through EducationUSA's pre-departure orientations and visa process guidance.
