“Kamala Harris joins TikTok, mocks Trump with Lance Bass 'Bye Bye Bye”

Vice President Kamala Harris has made her debut on TikTok, partnering with Lance Bass to create a humorous video mocking former President Donald Trump. The video features the iconic 'Bye Bye Bye' song, adding a playful twist to the political landscape. Harris's entry into TikTok aims to engage younger audiences while delivering a light-hearted jab at Trump, quickly becoming a viral sensation.

Since its launch late last week, the vice president's TikTok account has quickly amassed over three million followers.

Boston Brand Media discovered the trending news - Kamala Harris launched her official TikTok account with the help of former NSYNC member Lance Bass.

In one of the first videos on her profile, which has already gained over three million followers since its launch last week, Bass joined Harris in a short clip mocking Donald Trump. Holding the camera, Bass asked, “Hey Kamala, what are we going to say to Donald Trump in November?”

“Bye, bye, bye,” Harris replied, referencing NSYNC’s 2000 hit song. A short clip of the song played as they laughed and waved.

Since the launch of the @KamalaHarris channel, her team has posted four videos.

The first, lasting just eight seconds, introduced Harris, with the cameraperson asking, “Madam vice president, are you on TikTok?”

“Well, I heard recently that I was on the For You Page, so I thought I would get on here myself,” Harris replied.

Recently, TikTok has been flooded with coconut tree memes, quotes from Harris, and old interviews going viral.

Other TikToks from Harris's campaign included a clip of her speaking with Barack and Michelle Obama, who offered their support to her campaign. Another featured clips from her visit to the set of RuPaul’s Drag Race, where she met contestants.

The Harris campaign continues to target the youth vote. Deputy campaign manager Rob Flaherty told People, “Our job as a campaign is to break through the noise and talk to voters wherever they are — TikTok is one of those landscapes, and we’re leaving no stone unturned."

On Saturday, Harris sent a pre-recorded message to the Voters of Tomorrow Summit, telling young voters, “Your generation is leading on the most important issues of our time.” She reiterated that young voters helped elect her and Joe Biden in 2020, saying, “This November, we will win again.”

“Last year, I convened more than 15,000 Young Leaders on my nationwide college tour to hear about the issues that matter most to your generation,” she said. “At every stop, it was clear your generation is leading on the most important issues of our time."

“In this moment, we each face a question. What kind of country do we want to live in? A country of freedom, compassion, and the rule of law? Or a country of chaos, fear, and hate?"

“We each have the power to answer this question. In this election, we are counting on you to energize, organize, mobilize, and fight for our most fundamental freedoms. When we fight, we win.”

A new Axios/Generation Lab poll published this week showed that in a Harris-Trump contest, 18 to 24-year-olds favor Harris, with 60 percent supporting her compared to 40 percent for Trump.
