Nationwide Airport E-Gate Outage, Border Force Reports

A nationwide outage of airport e-gates has been reported, causing significant delays and disruptions for travellers. The Border Force has confirmed the malfunction, which affects electronic gates used for passport control at airports across the country. Efforts are underway to resolve the issue, but passengers are advised to expect longer wait times and potential inconvenience while manual processing is implemented as a temporary measure. Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.

Boston Brand Media discovered the trending news - A nationwide technical problem with immigration e-gates is leading to significant delays at Sydney International Airport. The Australian Border Force has verified that an outage is affecting smart gates at airports throughout the country, with teams actively working to resolve the issue.

"We are striving to fix the problem as swiftly as possible and have dispatched extra officers to help manage the flow of travellers," stated a spokesperson.

"We apologize for any delays passengers are experiencing." Currently, crowds are stretching from the immigration gate to the opposite end of the terminal at Sydney International Airport. "Flying internationally out of Sydney? There is a kilometer-long queue for immigration check," one prospective traveller shared on social media.

Virgin, Qantas, and Jetstar flights have not been affected by the delays, as ground staff are calling passengers forward. Melbourne Airport, Adelaide Airport, Perth Airport, and Cairns Airport have reported that they are not experiencing delays and are unaffected by the technical issue.
