Boston Brand Media brings you the sensational news - Planted, Europe's fastest-growing alternative protein startup, has officially expanded into the UAE and Middle East foodservice market. Its products are now available on select restaurant menus across the UAE, with hotel chains expected to follow soon. As a Swiss brand with a purpose, Planted aims to set a new benchmark in the plant-based meat industry by offering high-quality, protein-rich meat alternatives made from natural ingredients without additives, ensuring a nutritious and sustainable option for all.
Planted has made its entry among the key players in the UAE's foodservice and HoReCa (Hotel/Restaurant/Café) market, with plans to partner with more entities by the end of 2024. The company aims to collaborate with a variety of foodservice providers in the UAE, including hotels, restaurants, cafes, quick-service restaurants (QSRs), and other hospitality industry operators that creatively incorporate Planted’s plant-based meat into their menus.
Planted’s current partners in the UAE include homegrown restaurant brands like Nabati and Pizza Di Rocco, as well as supermarket chains such as Grandiose Supermarket.
Boston Brand Media also found that consumers can experience Planted’s innovative products through the menus of its partners. Nabati, a multi-cuisine vegan restaurant known for its fast-food classics, will feature Planted’s products in dishes like Chicken Caesar Salad and Chicken Alfredo. Meanwhile, the award-winning traditional Italian pizzeria Pizza Di Rocco will incorporate Planted’s plant-based meat into its Vegan Tikka Pizza. Additionally, the premium retailer Grandiose Supermarket will offer Planted’s products in various meals later this month, including Plant-based Chicken Shawarma Wrap, Plant-based BBQ Chicken Ciabatta, Plant-based BBQ Chicken Pizza, Plant-based Kung Pau with White Rice, and Plant-based Mexican Chicken with Brown Rice and Salsa.
“Our exclusive distribution partnership allows us to access significant foodservice markets in the UAE and Middle East region and strategically plan future expansion. We are optimistic about the growth potential for plant-based protein in the Middle East and aim to transform how meat is perceived, produced, and consumed in the region, inspiring meat-eaters to shift towards plant proteins without compromising on taste or usability,” said Pascal Bieri, co-founder and executive board member of Planted.
