Roper Technologies is acquiring Transact Campus for $1.5 billion to bolster its presence in the education sector. This strategic move is intended to enhance Roper's digital campus solutions and expand its offerings in the education industry.
On August 15 (Reuters), Roper Technologies (ROP.O) announced its agreement to acquire Transact Campus for $1.5 billion, aiming to strengthen its offerings in the higher education and healthcare sectors, the software services company said on Thursday.
The acquisition is expected to help Roper utilize its cash reserves to bolster its position amid weakened enterprise spending on its varied software portfolio, driven by a challenging economy and resulting in delayed contract renewals.
Roper anticipates that Transact will generate approximately $325 million in revenue by 2025, with the acquisition being funded through cash and a revolving credit facility.
Transact Campus, which provides payment, identification, and commerce services to enhance campus life, will be integrated with Roper's CBORD business, which offers nutrition, security, and campus commerce services.
The combined entity will be led by Transact's CEO, Nancy Langer, with CBORD's CEO, Dan Park, taking on the role of COO.
