Boston Brand Media discovered the trending Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar received a standing ovation from the packed crowd at Wimbledon’s Centre Court on Saturday. Tendulkar, dressed in a beige suit, smiled and waved in acknowledgment of the enthusiastic welcome. Wimbledon shared a video on X, stating, "It's great to welcome you back to Centre Court, @sachin_rt." The Centre Court announcer introduced him, saying, "We are also joined by a legend of the game from India, another World Cup winner and the all-time run-scorer in cricket history. Please welcome Sachin Tendulkar."
It was a day for cricketers at Centre Court, with England's Test and white-ball captains Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler, and former skipper Joe Root also in attendance in the Royal Box, sitting just behind Tendulkar.
A post read, "Three @englandcricket superstars join us in the Royal Box. It's great to have @root66, @benstokes38, and @josbuttler with us at #Wimbledon."
The cricketers were there to watch the third-round match between Germany's Alexander Zverev and the UK's Cameron Norrie.
Tendulkar has been a regular at Wimbledon during this time of year for many years.
