Shirley Bassey plans to sell jewelry pieces, including a diamond ring gifted by Elton John, at an upcoming auction.

Sotheby's London will showcase items from the collection of the singer known for "Diamonds are Forever" before they go up for auction in Paris to benefit charity.

Renowned singer Shirley Bassey plans to auction a portion of her extensive and sentimental jewelry collection, including a diamond ring gifted by Elton John. Sotheby's London will exhibit select pieces before they're auctioned in Paris for charity. Notable items include a diamond necklace and a Cartier diamond and gold parure. Bassey, 87, known for her performance in the 1971 James Bond film, expressed a personal connection to the theme of diamonds in her iconic song.

Shirley Bassey reminisced about her cherished jewelry pieces, including a vintage Van Cleef & Arpels ring from Elton John, a ruby and diamond heart parure from Bangkok, and an emerald parure commemorating her first Royal Variety Performance. She developed a passion for jewelry early in her career, buying her first pearls herself. Other notable items include a yellow diamond ring and an aquamarine, sapphire, diamond, and gem set. The collection will be exhibited at Sotheby's London and Paris before being auctioned, with proceeds benefiting Bassey's chosen charities.
