Syndio has hired a veteran product manager from LinkedIn, while Microsoft's chief scientist has joined the board of Shutterstock. These notable leadership changes highlight the ongoing talent shifts within the tech industry, emphasizing the strategic moves companies are making to enhance their expertise and drive innovation.
Mitali Pattnaik, previously head of product management and senior director at LinkedIn, has joined Seattle startup Syndio as its new chief product officer.
Pattnaik worked at LinkedIn for over six years in various product management roles, including leading the LinkedIn Sales Solutions team. She also founded a sales startup called IntroHQ and held roles at Twitter, Google, Electronic Arts, Yahoo, and Microsoft.
Founded in 2017, Syndio focuses on analyzing workplace pay equity issues and providing strategies to address disparities. Its customers include Siemens, Sweetgreen, American Airlines, and Nordstrom. The company has raised over $83 million.
Last month, Syndio hired longtime engineering leader Nimrod Vered as its senior vice president of engineering.
Jaime Teevan, Microsoft’s chief scientist and technical fellow, joined the board of image and video giant Shutterstock. Teevan, a former technical advisor to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, leads Microsoft's Future of Work initiative, which unites researchers from Microsoft, LinkedIn, and GitHub to study changes in work due to the pandemic.
“Her wealth of knowledge and experience in AI, deep roots in rigorous research, and expertise in advancements in ethical AI will be invaluable as Shutterstock continues to play a critical role in this space, for example with our industry-leading training data,” said Shutterstock board chairman Jon Oringer in a statement.
Kristen Russell, a longtime communications leader, joined Seattle-area reusable rocket startup Stoke Space as vice president of marketing, brand, and communications. She was most recently at Zillow and has experience at Smartsheet, Allrecipes, and WE Communications.
Rich Krutsch was named president of the U.S. employers business group at Seattle healthcare software startup Abett. Krutsch previously served as a vice president at ArcBest and most recently worked at Stephens.
Eric Wexler will become the new CEO and president of Renton, Wash.-based health system Providence, effective January 1 of next year. He joined Providence in 2016 and is currently COO.
David Borges was appointed chief accounting officer at Seattle biotech company Omeros. Borges joined Omeros in 2020 and was previously a finance leader at Bulletproof 360.
Kristen Hamilton, a startup veteran based in Seattle, is now an advisor to the CEOs at Berlin-based urology care company Kranus Health.
Janet Kim has started a new role at Microsoft as senior communications manager for data centers. She previously led PR efforts at Microsoft for the energy industry.
Rob Ó Callaghan has joined market research tech startup QuantifyAI as chief technology officer. He previously worked at Meta and Google.
Andrew Kennedy was promoted to chief traceability officer at Seattle food supply tech startup iFoodDS.
