Trump Cancels Scheduled Interview with CNBC's 'Squawk Box'

Former President Trump has canceled his planned interview with CNBC's 'Squawk Box,' raising speculation about his media strategy. The cancellation comes as he navigates various political challenges and public appearances. Observers are curious about the potential impact on his engagement with media outlets and the broader implications for his communication strategy in the current political climate. Further updates on his media plans are anticipated.

The former president also opted out of an interview with CBS's "60 Minutes" earlier this month.

Donald Trump has canceled a scheduled interview with CNBC's "Squawk Box," as confirmed by co-host Joe Kernen.

“Trump canceled, and he was going to come on,” Kernen stated Tuesday morning on CNBC.

A Trump campaign official informed POLITICO that the cancellation was due to a “scheduling conflict.” This afternoon, Trump is set to interview with Bloomberg News and the Economic Club of Chicago, followed by travel to Atlanta for a 7:30 p.m. ET event and a pre-taped Fox News town hall scheduled to air tomorrow.

The CNBC interview had not been previously announced. Kernen mentioned that he also invited Kamala Harris for an interview, but she declined. The Harris campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

This marks the second instance in which Trump has withdrawn from a broadcast news interview recently. Two weeks ago, he also opted out of an interview for CBS's "60 Minutes," which was intended to feature both Trump and Harris, following a long-standing tradition of the show interviewing both presidential candidates. The special on October 7 instead only included Harris.

The cancellation also follows Harris's announcement that she will appear for an interview with Fox News' Bret Baier tomorrow. In response to this news, Trump criticized the network, claiming it has become lenient towards Democrats.
