Zendaya Honors Cher by Recreating Iconic Look at Event

Zendaya pays homage to the legendary Cher by recreating one of her most iconic looks at a recent event. The fashion-forward actress embraced Cher's timeless style, showcasing her admiration for the music icon. This tribute highlights Zendaya's ability to blend contemporary fashion with classic influences, celebrating Cher's significant impact on pop culture and inspiring future generations of artists and fans alike.

Zendaya consistently delivers when it matters most. As she prepared to honor one of the most influential artists in music history, she made sure to embody Cher’s essence in a remarkable way.

On Saturday night, Zendaya traveled to Cleveland, Ohio, to pay tribute to Cher during her induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. She introduced Cher and honored her iconic style over the years by donning a vintage Bob Mackie gown that closely resembled one Cher wore in 1972, also designed by Mackie.

For decades, Cher has been a prominent muse for Bob Mackie, showcasing numerous stunning gowns and outfits designed by him during the 1970s and 1980s. The exquisite gown worn by Zendaya is from the fall 2001 "Foreign Intrigue" collection. The fashion house shared details about the dress on Instagram, describing it as a “nude illusion halter gown entirely hand-beaded in gold, diamond, and iridescent bugle beads, along with aurora borealis stones.”

Zendaya complemented the stunning gown with a pair of gold pointed stilettos. For her hair and makeup, she embraced a classic Cher look, styling her hair long and straight down her back, reminiscent of Cher’s signature style.

The gown also featured a dramatic white satin trench coat with an oversized collar, adorned with lines of gold beads and stones.

“Thank you, Cher. Thank you for being an advocate and an ally," Zendaya expressed during her speech. “For paving the way for so many individuals to live authentically and express their truths. And for having the courage to be as bold and open-hearted as you are.”

Before Cher accepted her award, she took the stage alongside Dua Lipa to perform her iconic hit "Believe." Both artists donned matching all-leather outfits as they danced and sang the duet together.
