11 Swissport Aspire Lounges to Open in 9 Moroccan Airports

Swissport is set to open 11 Aspire Executive Lounges across 9 airports in Morocco, enhancing the travel experience for passengers. The new lounges will provide travelers with modern amenities, offering a comfortable and luxurious environment for relaxation before their flights. This expansion is part of Swissport's ongoing effort to improve services and cater to the increasing demand for premium airport facilities in Morocco. The lounges will be located in key airports throughout the country.

Swissport International is launching its Aspire Executive Lounges in Morocco as part of its significant expansion efforts. The company plans to open 11 lounges across nine airports in Morocco, with the first opening scheduled for April 2025.

This expansion follows Swissport's recent acquisition of a new 10-year license from Morocco’s airport authority, ONDA. While the project is substantial, the investment cost has not been disclosed.

Since 2012, Swissport has been providing aviation services in Morocco, and now it is significantly increasing its presence with Aspire Executive Lounges at nine airports, including key locations like Agadir, Casablanca, Fès, Marrakesh, Nador, Oujda, Rabat–Salé, and Tangier.

David Collyer, Swissport’s Global Senior Vice President of Executive Lounges, expressed excitement about the expansion, emphasizing the brand's commitment to providing modern, welcoming spaces for all travelers, regardless of airline or class.

The 11 new lounges will feature cutting-edge design elements, incorporating Moroccan-inspired aesthetics and offering authentic local meals and beverages. Aspire lounges are designed to be relatively affordable, with entrance fees like €28 per day at Cork Airport. Annual memberships were discontinued in March 2024.

The goal is to deliver a hotel-like experience in the airport lounge, offering comfort and quality that meet the needs of today's travelers.

Swissport has been a fixture in Morocco's aviation industry for over a decade, providing services like Fixed Base Operations (FBO) at four airports in addition to its ground and cargo handling services. Dirk Goovaerts, Swissport’s CEO for the region, highlighted the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting Morocco’s growth as a leading aviation hub in North Africa.

Aspire Executive Lounges, a global leader in airport hospitality, serves over six million guests annually and continues to grow its network. In 2024, the brand added more than 20 new lounges, and further expansion is planned over the next two years, including the introduction of the world’s first ‘3-tier lounge’ at Newcastle Airport, designed to cater to a range of premium travelers.
