The Anderson Valley will host the International White Wine Festival on February 15-16, 2025. This exciting event will showcase a variety of exceptional white wines, featuring tastings, food pairings, and insightful discussions led by industry experts. Attendees will have the chance to explore diverse selections of white wines while enjoying the picturesque vineyard surroundings, making it a must-attend event for wine enthusiasts.
Wines from around the world will join the celebration this winter
White wine is currently gaining popularity, and this year, Anderson Valley is honoring its roots by hosting an international celebration of all things white wine. The event will feature producers from across the United States and around the globe, showcasing the white grape varieties unique to their regions.
The famed Anderson Valley was established on the premise that aromatic Alsatian varieties would thrive in the region's cool, coastal climate. Grapes such as Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Gewürztraminer were first highlighted at the Annual Alsace Festival held in Anderson Valley every February.
With the rise of other grape varieties, including Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, it's time to acknowledge all the white wine grapes cultivated in Anderson Valley, as well as those from other cool climate regions. This includes white versions of traditionally red grapes like Pinot Noir, which have gained traction as White Pinot Noir by minimizing skin contact to preserve flavor.
To enhance the celebration of white wines, Anderson Valley is inviting wines from various wine-growing regions, including Willamette Valley, Colorado, California's Central Coast, New Zealand, Alsace, Baja, the Loire Valley, and cooler regions in Italy, among others.
The International White Wine Festival will take place at the Mendocino Fairgrounds in Boonville, California. A Grand Tasting is scheduled for Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, with a VIP hour starting at 11:00 AM. There is also a potential Gewürztraminer seminar set to take place at 10:00 AM that day. The celebration will continue on Sunday, February 16, 2025, with open house events at various wineries throughout the Valley.
Make your plans now to help relaunch the reimagined Anderson Valley International White Wine Festival on February 15-16, 2025! This event is a comprehensive celebration of all white varieties, focusing particularly on Anderson Valley Chardonnay and Alsatian varietals, highlighting white grapes from around the world.
