Education Group Seeks Approval to Convert Office into School

An education group is seeking approval to transform an office space into a new school. This initiative aims to create a modern learning environment, catering to the educational needs of students and enhancing their academic experience. The proposed conversion highlights the group's commitment to providing high-quality education and adapting to evolving educational requirements. Approval of this plan would pave the way for the development of an innovative and dynamic educational facility.

The proposed site near Sandbach has most recently been used as the regional head office for an industrial mineral firm

An education provider has applied for permission to establish a school for children with special educational needs (SEN) on the outskirts of a Cheshire town.

Witherslack Group, which offers independent specialist education, aims to convert Brookside Hall in Arclid, near Sandbach, into a school for children aged five to 19.

The site, formerly a school, has most recently served as the regional head office for industrial mineral firm Sibelco UK.

The application for the building's change of use is expected to be reviewed by Cheshire East Council in September.

Witherslack Group described the site off Congleton Road as "an ideal location which will provide future pupils with the very best learning experiences and exposure to nature."

According to the application, the school would accommodate about 118 SEN pupils and create approximately 70 full-time equivalent jobs.

The group currently operates 28 schools, 38 children’s homes, four vocational training centres, and seven integrated learning centres.

They are seeking approval to change the Arclid site's use from office to educational and permission for two new multi-use games area pitches, new fencing, gates, doorways, and solar panels.
