Etihad Airways Launches Airbus A380 Flights to Singapore

Etihad Airways has launched its Airbus A380 service to Singapore, offering passengers a new level of luxury and comfort. The iconic aircraft, known for its spacious cabins and advanced features, will provide travelers with a premium flying experience. With enhanced amenities across all classes, the A380 service aims to cater to the growing demand for high-quality travel between Abu Dhabi and Singapore, marking a significant milestone in Etihad's international operations.

On Singapore's National Day last year, Etihad Airways revealed plans to introduce the Airbus A380 between Abu Dhabi and Singapore in 2025. This commitment was fulfilled on February 1, 2025, when Etihad launched A380 services on the route.

Etihad's A380 service began with flight EY498, departing Abu Dhabi at 22:31 and landing in Singapore after a nearly seven-hour flight. The return flight from Singapore to Abu Dhabi followed the next day.

The A380 used on this route, a 2016 model, has previously operated flights to London, Paris, New York, and Mumbai. Prior to this aircraft, the route was served by a Boeing 777-300ER or a 787-10 Dreamliner. With six A380s now in service, Singapore becomes the fourth city to experience Etihad’s A380, joining London, New York, and Paris.

Etihad’s fleet, which includes 105 aircraft, is made up of a mix of Airbus and Boeing models. This includes A320s, A350s, and 787s, alongside the A380s and 777s.

The Airbus A380’s introduction on the Abu Dhabi-Singapore route gives passengers access to Etihad’s exclusive "The Residence," a luxurious three-room suite featuring a living room, bedroom, and private bathroom with a shower. This service, combined with a personalized cabin crew and premium dining options, creates an exceptional flying experience. Etihad’s CEO emphasized the added convenience and luxury this service provides to travelers.

The A380 offers 486 seats across four classes, including First Apartments, Business Studios, premium economy, and economy. Business Studios are located on the upper deck, offering amenities designed by Armani/Casa and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Etihad has also opened a new US Preclearance Lounge at Abu Dhabi's Zayed International Airport, streamlining the travel process for passengers heading to the US. The lounge, available to eligible premium passengers, offers a serene space to relax before boarding. The convenience of US Preclearance, available at Abu Dhabi, adds to Etihad’s premium service offering.

Etihad is expanding its US network, with nonstop flights to Boston, Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C. It will further extend its North American reach with new flights to Atlanta in July.
