The National Park Foundation announced on Monday that it has received its largest grant to date—a $100 million donation from the Lilly Endowment—dedicated to protecting the future of national parks. 

This funding will act as a catalyst, enabling the foundation to expand its efforts in environmental education, conservation, and the preservation of ecosystems. Additionally, the grant will support technological enhancements and the creation of a more inclusive historical narrative in the parks. 

NPF President and CEO Will Shafroth expressed deep gratitude for the donation, emphasizing its role in continuing the foundation's mission to make national parks accessible and sustainable for all. N. Clay Robbins, chair and CEO of Lilly Endowment, highlighted that the grant aligns with their commitment to fostering the appreciation of natural beauty and cultural history, further invigorating the parks' programs and future vitality.
