Nearly all of the top 40 startups at Station F in 2024 are utilizing artificial intelligence to drive innovation and reshape industries. These startups are leveraging AI technologies to enhance efficiency, improve products and services, and create cutting-edge solutions across various sectors. This trend highlights the growing importance of AI in the global startup ecosystem and its role in future business success.
Each year, over 1,000 startups join Station F, the renowned startup campus in Paris. Due to the sheer number of applications, Station F selects the 40 most promising startups, known as the "Future 40." The campus also invests in 10 of these startups, though their identities remain undisclosed.
These 10 startups participate in programs hosted either by Station F or its partners, including Binance, LVMH, Meta, and Microsoft.
The flagship accelerator program, the Founders Program, is highly competitive. Companies apply to this program to participate in workshops and classes designed to quickly iterate their projects and reach product-market fit. Station F now takes a 1% equity stake in these startups.
Additionally, Station F runs the Fighters Program, aimed at entrepreneurs from disadvantaged backgrounds. The campus has also hosted vertical-specific programs like the FemTech Program when it identifies a need for specialized support in certain industries.
This year's cohort has raised €93 million, with 34 out of 40 startups leveraging artificial intelligence (AI). AI is expected to be a key component for all future startups.
Among the standout startups is Arago, which is developing AI-focused chips using optical technology for faster operations. EXXA focuses on optimizing AI inference to reduce per-token costs.
Startups focused on AI workload optimization are expected to emerge as AI model innovation slows down. Companies like Altrove and Entalpic are advancing materials research using AI to speed up the development of new materials.
Several startups are also working on energy optimization. For example, Optimmo helps homeowners improve energy efficiency through remote retrofitting, and Orus Energy shifts energy loads to off-peak hours to save costs and reduce carbon footprints.
Other notable startups include Koyeb, Presti, and Kelvin, each making strides in their respective sectors like AI cloud services, furniture industry AI, and home energy efficiency.
