Pernod Ricard has added an orange peel flavour to its Absolut Nights shots range.
Absolut Nights is described as a vibrant and bold range of shots, drawing inspiration from local cultures and flavours to create sensory drink experiences for partygoers worldwide.
Absolut Nights Orange Peel is made with a blend of oriental orange peels and coffee. Inspired by Chenpi, a traditional flavour of local dried orange rind, it boasts a blend of sweet and sour notes with a spiced tangerine kick. A hint of coffee was also added to the Absolut Vodka-based drink’s flavour.
Crafted with Absolut Vodka and natural ingredients, the drink has a 35% ABV and is said to be best enjoyed neat and chilled.
The new offering comes in a 700ml orange glass bottle, symbolising the neon lights that characterise Asia’s night-time cityscapes. Its urban-inspired X-signifier reflects “high-energy nights and experiences,” said the company.
The orange peel variant joins the brand’s existing flavours, including Smoky Piña, inspired by Mexico, and Nordic Spice, influenced by Scandinavia.
Louis Chang, VP of marketing at Pernod Ricard China, said: “Absolut Nights Orange Peel pays homage to Chinese culture, and the flavour profile is truly suited to the Asian market”.
“Inspired by Chenpi, which is a traditional ingredient used in Chinese cooking, desserts and candies, the addition of orange peel to our esteemed portfolio in China marks the next stage in the evolution of the nightlife lifestyle for the next generation, echoing our promise to redefine nightlife by aligning local culture with global trends and creating intriguing, authentic and engaging experiences.”
Absolut Nights Orange Peel will launch in China on 30 March.
