A Dive into Romance: Saudi couple gets married underwater in the Red Sea with attendees of fellow divers

In a distinctive ceremony, a couple in Saudi Arabia recently exchanged their vows beneath the waves of the Red Sea, marking one of the country's first underwater weddings. Hassan Abu Al-Ola and Yasmine Daftardar, both enthusiastic divers, selected this extraordinary location to commence their journey together. Their goal is to inspire others to explore the breathtaking marine life found in Saudi Arabia.

A New Trend in Weddings

While many couples dream of traditional weddings set in beautiful venues with elegant attire, some are now seeking out unique ways to celebrate their unions. Underwater weddings are emerging as a popular trend among adventurous couples.

During their recent ceremony, Abu Al-Ola and Daftardar celebrated their love surrounded by coral reefs and vibrant sea creatures off the coast of Jeddah. The event was attended by a small group of fellow divers and organized by Saudi Divers, a local diving group led by Captain Faisal Flemban, as reported by Gulf News. The team provided expert assistance, including all necessary gear and an unexpected underwater celebration.

An Unforgettable Experience

“It was truly a surprise. Once we were geared up, Captain Faisal and the team revealed that they had organized a wedding celebration right there under the sea. It was a beautiful and unforgettable experience,” said Hassan Abu Al-Ola.

The couple encountered no major difficulties during the event. “Alhamdulillah, everything went smoothly. The celebration was unconventional and spectacular, leaving everyone amazed,” he added.

Inspiring Exploration

With their viral wedding story, Abu Al-Ola and Daftardar hope to motivate both divers and non-divers to explore the remarkable marine wonders of Saudi Arabia. “This is just one way we can help realize the vision of Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Prince of Youth and the visionary leader of our great country,” Abu Al-Ola concluded.

Their underwater wedding exemplifies a growing trend in Saudi Arabia, merging tradition with adventure while highlighting the nation’s rich underwater ecosystem.
