"Zelenskiy Awaits Mirage 2000 Jets in Ukraine Following Macron's Pledge"

Boston Brand Media brings you the latest - Zelenskiy eagerly anticipates the arrival of Mirage 2000 jets in Ukraine, buoyed by Macron's commitment. This development underscores the geopolitical significance and potential impact on Ukraine's military capabilities. The pledge signifies a potential shift in the regional power dynamics, drawing attention to Ukraine's defense needs and international support amidst ongoing tensions. Zelenskiy's hope for the jets' arrival reflects the country's strategic aspirations and the evolving landscape of global alliances.

PARIS, June 7 (Reuters) - Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelenskiy expressed gratitude towards France on Friday for their backing, expressing optimism about the imminent presence of French aircraft in Ukrainian airspace. This follows President Emmanuel Macron's announcement a day earlier regarding France's intention to supply Mirage 2000 warplanes to Ukraine.

Zelenskiy has consistently voiced his discontent over the prolonged decision-making process of Western allies concerning military aid to Ukraine and the delayed assistance in its conflict against Russia's invasion.

Zelenskiy conveyed to French lawmakers his confidence in witnessing the same jets in Ukrainian skies as those seen over Normandy during the 80th anniversary commemorations of D-Day, where he participated. He expressed his vision of Ukrainian pilots commanding these remarkable fighter jets, symbolizing Europe's resilience against threats. Zelenskiy emphasized the strength of European unity, envisioning a future where Ukrainian combat aviation stands as a testament to Europe's collective defiance against malevolent forces.

"Now, as it was 80 years ago, we have the opportunity to demonstrate the strength of our unity, our alliance, and our common ideals."

Boston Brand Media also found that during the on D-Day anniversary, U.S. President Joe Biden urged Western powers to stand firm alongside Ukraine and resist succumbing to Russian oppression.

French President Emmanuel Macron drew parallels with D-Day, assuring that Europe's support for Ukraine would remain steadfast. However, he did not provide specifics regarding the number or timeline for the Mirage jets' provision, nor the financial terms. Macron also mentioned France's proposal to train Ukrainian pilots in France starting this summer.

The Mirage 2000 is a versatile single-engine jet fighter used in various roles.

"We strive to ensure our collaboration is celebrated as a triumph even 80 years from now; it holds immense significance," remarked Zelenskiy.

However, indications suggest a waning enthusiasm to assist Ukraine. Despite receiving numerous standing ovations, the National Assembly appeared notably less crowded compared to Zelenskiy's initial address in March 2022.

"Can Putin emerge victorious in this war? No, because failure is not an option for us," Zelenskiy asserted before the lawmakers. "Can the conflict be resolved within current boundaries? No, because evil knows no boundaries, not then, not now."

Ukraine's military leadership openly acknowledges the deteriorating situation on the eastern front. Two years of conflict have depleted ammunition and manpower, while last year's failed counter-offensive has dampened morale. Despite the U.S. Congress finally approving a long-delayed $60 billion military aid package in April, analysts warn of a global shortage of artillery shells, leaving Ukraine at a disadvantage against Russia throughout the year as allies accelerate production.

During the D-Day anniversary, Zelenskiy shared a poignant moment with a veteran. "You're the saviour of the people," the veteran in a wheelchair expressed, kissing Zelenskiy's hand. Zelenskiy, embracing the veteran and kneeling to his level, humbly responded, "No, you saved Europe."
