Blue Whale to showcase its value proposition at Fruit Attraction.

Blue Whale will present its value proposition at the Fruit Attraction event, focusing on innovative solutions and sustainable practices in the produce sector. The exhibition aims to highlight the company’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction while exploring new opportunities in the marketplace. Attendees can expect insights into how Blue Whale is enhancing value within the industry.

The prominent French cooperative, Blue Whale, will showcase its value proposition at the Fruit Attraction trade fair from October 8 to 10, 2024, in Madrid. They will feature a 130m² booth located in Hall 6, Hall C07, accompanied by a clear vision for the future: to prioritize consumer preferences in its development strategies.

Bruno Bertheloz, the general manager of Blue Whale, stated, “Our goal is to create value for our growers as well as our buyers, including wholesalers, supermarkets, and greengrocers. However, for this to be meaningful, we must not overlook one crucial aspect: the consumers. In recent years, consumer preferences have evolved, and the industry has not always adapted quickly enough. It’s time to center the consumer in our business.”

To achieve this, the French cooperative has conducted a comprehensive study on consumer needs and trends in its key markets across Europe, Asia, and America. The insights gained from this analysis have shaped the future strategy of the company, which is now being unveiled at Fruit Attraction.

One of their key goals is to provide varieties that rekindle the joy of tasting for consumers. To accomplish this, the company has reorganized its apple offerings by categorizing them based on the taste preferences of consumers worldwide. The crisp Envy, the sweet Candine, and the intriguing Kissabel represent modern varieties that cater to new taste profiles. Additionally, Coeur de Reine presents a balanced flavor, ideal for the traditional, more sophisticated French palate. Together with other varieties, the portfolio now boasts a total of 30 different apple types.

Furthermore, Blue Whale offers a diverse range of other fruits, including premium pears like Angys, QTee, and Fred; green and yellow kiwis; innovative plums such as Métis; and seedless Apiran table grapes. These products are part of their new diversification strategy. “Globally, our customers recognize Blue Whale as a premier apple specialist. However, many are not aware that we can provide much more. We aspire to be their partner in enhancing the dynamism of their shelves, not just for apples, but for all premium fruits,” Bertheloz concluded.
